Bike Riding Benefit For Local Officer

Dozens of riders and officers hit the highway to help one of their own.

This bike benefit is the honor of East Carolina University Officer, Scott Pollard. Officers say on November 11th Baldwin was on his motorcycle when he involved in a hit and run.

Since then, Officer Pollard has been in the hospital. So local lawmen and women from the county wanted to help him and his family.

"We wanted to do what we could to help him out here during Christmas time. " says Sgt. Phil Worthington with the Greenville Police Department,

"He's going to be out of work for a right good while, so we felt it was a good benefit. He loved to ride motorcycles and sponsored a lot of rides so we wanted to so something special for him."

The benefit started on Highway Eleven at Ron Ayers Motorcycles shop and ended at L&E Harley Davidson in Winterville.
