It looks like it's going to be a good Christmas for many needy children across eastern Carolina
Marine Corps Reservists at Cherry Point invaded WITN's Washington and Greenville studio's Wednesday morning in an effort to complete their mission of delivering toys to needy children across the region.
The program's coordinator says it will be a successful campaign despite countless toy recalls and an early deadline. But, it's next years campaign that might be in jeopardy. The reserve unit is moving to Camp Lejeune and it's up to the coordinator to pass the torch and keep Toys for Tots program alive.
According to the campaign website, in 2006, Toys for Tots delivered more than 19.2 million toys to over 7.6 million children.
