The lack of rain in the past few months has prompted the Greenville Utilities Commission to formally implement stage one of their water conservation plan.
Now that stage one is now formally in place, officials say the next step will mean mandatory restrictions if rain does not come our way soon.
Since September, the utilities company has urged customers to voluntary conserve water. Greenville utilities never formally enacted their emergency water plan, but say this new declaration is no different from what they've asked resident to already do.
