Paradise a Nightmare for Firefighters

A house was engulfed by fire. The challenge for firefighters wasn't putting out the flames, but getting to the house. A half mile and just over 14 feet wide, that's the road firetrucks in Carteret County had to travel to put out flames at the Robertson's near Cape Carteret when it caught fire Monday afternoon. The family calls it paradise, but fire officials say it was a nightmare getting firetrucks and water up the narrow dirt road. Paved roads or not, Joe Robertson says she likes living off the beaten path. The Robertson's say they've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of public support. Officials say no one was seriously injured in the fire.
