New Locating Devices for Outer Banks

This week, Manteo Police officers trained alongside other agents from Outer Banks departments, in the use of Project Lifesaver tracking devices.

Project Lifesaver provides tracking bracelets to children with mental illness, and adults with Alzheimers or other conditions that make them prone to wandering away from home. These officers are learning to use equipment that can find that participating family member fast. Nationally, Project Lifesaver has a 100 percent success rate in finding lost loved ones. Manteo joins Kill Devil Hills, and the Sheriff's Department in participating in the program. To find out how to sign up, you can call one of those offices on the Outer Banks.
