Lottery executive director Tom Shaheen says the "Pick 3"
drawing would be performed identically to the numbers drawing held
every night. The midday drawing would be held Monday through
Shaheen says an extra daily drawing would raise more revenues
while giving the lottery another opportunity to attract players.
Shaheen didn't give an exact start date to lottery commissioners
holding their quarterly meeting Wednesday.
The announcement comes as the Education Lottery is working to
boost sales after the General Assembly changed the law to allow
them to increase prize payouts.
Shaheen also says the Merry Millionaire Raffle is outselling
similar holiday raffles in surrounding states.
