Reynolds American CFO To Resign, Replacement Named

Reynolds American Inc. says its chief financial officer will resign in March.

The company says Dianne M. Neal will resign and that fellow executive Thomas Adams will succeed her.

Reynolds American is the parent company of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., which makes Camel cigarettes and also of Conwood, which makes Grizzly smokeless tobacco.

The company said in a statement that Adams will replace Neal as executive vice president and CFO, effective Jan. 1.

Replacing Adams as senior vice president and chief accounting officer will be Frederick W. Smothers, who joined the company in 2007 as vice president and controller.

Neal joined R.J. Reynolds Tobacco in 1988. She says she is looking forward to spending more time with her family, on corporate boards and in community organizations.
