A postmaster in North Carolina is behind bars accused of plotting to kill his ex-wife.
Prosecutors near Charlotte charged 56-year-old David Willis in a murder-for-hire scheme. The FBI began its investigation against Willis in October, when one of Willis' friends told investigators that Willis talked to him about helping murder his ex-wife.
Willis is the postmaster in Cornelius in Mecklenburg County. Prosecutors say he plotted to kill his ex-wife because he thought a financial settlement from their divorce would ruin his retirement.
