Authorities are looking for Christmas tree thieves who may be in North Carolina.
Tennessee tree grower Danny Tipton recently discovered that 28 of his tallest Fraser firs had been illegally cut. The trees go for about $100 each.
The thieves cut the top six feet off each tree, then apparently dragged them to a pickup truck parked nearby. Tipton's farm in on the Tennessee-North Carolina line.
Tipton was told the thieves hauled the trees into Madison County, North Carolina, and men were seen selling trees from a truck.
