There’s still no school Monday at Mattamuskeet Elementary in Hyde County, the third day in a row. And classes have already been canceled students for Tuesday and Wednesday.
School officials say they want to make sure they have the problem corrected that caused so much concern last week when tests showed low levels of carbon monoxide and diesel fumes in the school. The school will have three separate experts check the entire heating system. Afterwards, the school will offer the written findings in a scheduled public meeting to discuss what was found and if any changes need to be made.
Students are scheduled to return to class Thursday at the Mattamuskett High School gymnasium.
