From protecting and serving to shopping and giving, local law enforcement agencies are gearing up for the holidays, trading in their badges for red suits.

The 4th Annual Cops Christmas Crusade is underway across Beaufort County. In Washington law enforcement officials are collecting gifts, clothes, cash and goods to help needy families in the east, during the holidays. Local nonprofit agencies and community leaders have submitted names of dozens of kids who may go ungifted this holiday season, which is why authorities are reaching out and asking for your help to make some holiday dream's come true this year.

The Cop Crusade drop off site is located at the Washington Police Department on Third Street. They will continues to take donations and gifts to deliver to kids up until Christmas Eve.
