The town of Nags Head kicked off their annual Thanksgiving Festival on Friday, with the naming of this years new lightkeeper.
Drew Wilson, an award winning career newspaper photographer, was presented with one of the town's highest civic honors. Wilson's Outer Banks photos have graced the pages of newspapers nationwide, and various magazines. Among other reasons, he was selected for his unique way of portraying life in Nags Head and on the Outer Banks. Also, Holly Overton was named Youth Community Service Award recipient. And the Beasley Family was honored for building new cottages in the old Nags Head style architecture.
The Manteo High School chorus sang a number of songs in acapella fashion. Saturday a junior pier fishing tournament was held as well as an art show.
