The federal grand jury investigating North Carolina-based Blackwater Worldwide has heard from a second unidentified witness.
The panel is looking into the involvement of several security guards for Moyock-based Blackwater in the shooting deaths of 17 Iraqi civilians in Baghdad.
One of the witnesses entering the grand jury room had his head
shaved and was wearing a black leather jacket. The second witness
arrived wearing khaki cargo pants with a military-style crew cut and was accompanied by a law enforcement official.
Justice Department officials have said the Blackwater investigation will likely take months before a decision is made on whether to prosecute anyone. The case has been complicated by the limited immunity the State Department has promised to the Blackwater guards.
