Tuition hikes at Eastern North Carolina colleges aren't anything new. But while some schools are facing large increases, East Carolina University has proposed it's lowest in recent years.
The board of trustees proposed a 14 dollar increase in tuition for next year. This in addition to 24 dollars in fees making the total increase 38 dollars. ECU officials say a good portion of the money will go to financial aid. Approving the increase is all but a formality during Friday's meeting. The additional fee increase will go to student and rec services.
The current proposed tuition hike is the lowest in about 6 years.
