Violent Weekend in Greenville

The Greenville Police department is investigating two separate shootings.

One man was paralyzed from the neck down after being hit in the neck with a bullet during a drive by shooting. Police say the man was injured early Saturday morning just after 3 a.m. at the corner of McGregor Downs Road and 5th Street.

Authorities say shots were fired, and Joey Nathaniel Brown was hit in the neck and was instantly paralyzed. Lawmen say they are still looking for a suspect.

Authorities are also investigating a shooting outside Denny's restaurant on Memorial drive. Officials say Willie Lamont Williford, Junior was walking towards the restaurant when a car approached and opened fire. The victim was hit in the leg and a suspect has been arrested. The suspect is identified as 26-year-old Donte Hardy of Kinston.
