An Easy Way to Make a Difference

One Kinston resident says she hopes a tsunami fund drive that started in Lenoir County could help spark a bigger fund drive, one that spreads nationally.

Ruth Guthrie of Kinston says the thought of helping those affected by the December 26 earthquake and tsunami came to her while standing at her sink. Both she and a group of friends would like to collect a dollar from every Lenoir County resident and send it to the victims.

So far the group has raised about $2500.00.
