Military officials say three Camp Lejuene Marines have died in recent fighting in Iraq.

Staff Sergeant Russell Slay of Humble, Texas, was killed in action on Tuesday in Al Anbar Province near Fallujah. That's where Marines and U.S. Army forces have been engaged in a fierce four-day offensive against insurgents.

In addition to Slay, Sergeant David M. Caruso of Naperville, Illinois, and First Lieutenant Dan T. Malcolm Junior of Brinson, Georgia were killed. Over 1,160 troops have lost their lives in the war in Iraq.
