Authorities in Rockingham County are looking for the person who tried to drag an ATM out of a convenience store over the weekend.
A statement from the sheriff's department says a deputy responded to an alarm activation at the store on U.S. Business 29 and found the front glass doors open and broken.
The sheriff's office says the suspects backed up in a gray or silver color Jeep Cherokee and forced entry into the store by hooking a chain to the front doors. Once inside, they placed the chain around an ATM machine in an effort to pull it from the building, but they couldn't pry it out.
A reward is being offered for information regarding the incident.
