A California jury has convicted Scott Peterson of killing his pregnant wife, Laci. The jury found Peterson guilty of first-degree murder and also found him guilty of second-degree murder.
The decision came soon after the jury resumed deliberations Friday, following a one-day holiday break.
The judge has scheduled the penalty phase of the trial to start Nov. 22. First-degree murder convictions carry the death penalty or life in prison. Second-degree murder convictions carry a sentence of 15 years to life in prison for each count.
