Making Terrorists Pay

A veteran at Thursday's Jacksonville tribute has terrorists in his sights. Former Marine John Selby, who survived the 1983 Beirut bombing that killed more than 240 local troops, says the terrorists should pay in another way for what they do to Americans.

Selby and others are pushing a bill through Congress to seize terrorist assets and those of nations who harbor terrorists. Those funds would then be used to aid victims of attacks, whether they wear a military uniform and died in the line of duty, or are civilians who fall in future attacks.

Selby says all of North Carolina's Congressional delegation are backing the measure, which could be sent to the House floor early next year.
