Saving Money on Your Heating Bill

Rocky Mount natural gas customers will see an increase in their gas bills this winter of just over $2.50 a month. City leaders recently approved the rate increase due to the cost of gas at the well head.

The city's has about 19,000 natural gas customers. Rocky Mount's Director of Utilities says although the increase is minimal, you can still help reduce your heating bill by keeping your thermostat at 68 degrees when you're home, and turn it down to 62 degrees when you go to bed or when you're not home.

Need help with your bill? The city of Rocky Mount says the "Warm Program" is available for anyone who has difficulty paying their heating bills. For more information you can call the city of Rocky Mount.
