Tuesday, former Congressman Frank Ballance pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and money laundering.
Prosecutors say Ballance channeled more than $100,000.00 from a nonprofit foundation he operated to his law firm, his church and members of his family. Ballance made no statement in court and declined to talk to reporters afterwards.
When sentenced, he could receive a maximum of five years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and three years of supervised release.
