He may have been looking for love, but a Washington man has ended up with a felony charge of identity theft against him.

Beaufort County Sheriff's detectives say a man reported that someone used his bank account to sign up for an online and telephone dating service subscription. When lawmen contacted the dating service, the company was able to tell detectives who activated the service.

The investigation led to the arrest of 34-year-old Scottie McKinley Banks of Willow Street in Washington. Banks is charged with one felony county of identity theft.
