Operation Christmas Child

By  |

Children around the world will get toys, shoes and other gifts this Christmas thanks to an effort centered in North Carolina.

Volunteers in Charlotte are helping pack shoe boxes that will be
shipped to children in more than 100 countries as part of Operation
Christmas Child.

The project is part of the Boone-based Samaritan's Purse
ministry, which was founded by Franklin Graham. The program has
warehouses around the country with gifts it plans to ship overseas.

The warehouse in Charlotte has nearly two million boxes with
gifts. In all, the charity will ship eight million boxes this year.

Shoe boxes will be accepted at the Charlotte warehouse through
December 8.
