Storm Keeps Road Crews Busy

Pitt county was one of the areas hit hard by Sunday's winter storm, keeping Department of Transportation officials busy to say the least. Pitt County transportation supervisor Joe Ross, says crews were hard at work through the night, salting, and scraping roads. He says by lunch time Monday they managed to clear the southern and eastern sections of the county. He says crews concentrated efforts in the afternoon on western Pitt County. Ross says the county has about 250-tons of salt left, and says that should be enough to handle the next winter storm.
