Snow continued to fall all day in Raleigh. More than six inches is on the ground in spots. The Highway Patrol troop covering 14 central North Carolina counties received reports of 180 accidents between midnight and about 10 a-m, more than five times the normal total during a regular Sunday. Officials also say the bad weather contributed to a fatal accident in Wake County, where a man lost control of his speeding car on an icy road and overturned.
