Pitt County Facility Aims To Protect From Terrorism

By  |

Eastern Carolina is better prepared to deal with terrorism with the opening of a new National Guard facility in Pitt County.

The 1.4-million dollar facility will be used by the 42nd Civil Support Team of the National Guard.
It includes a garage to hold multimillion dollar equipment, and an administrative office building.

The new garage will include the only laboratory on wheels in the state used to detect things like toxic chemicals.

Several special guests including local officials attended the grand opening and toured the new state of the art facility.
