A Greene Correctional inmate was killed instantly in Ayden Wednesday after being electrocuted.
Ayden manager Adam Mitchel says the unidentified inmate was assisting the town of Ayden when he came in contact with a utility pole anchor. Mitchel says that anchor was connected to a truck and the truck came in contract with a live power line.
Federal safety officials and the Department of Labor are investigating the incident.
