Governor's Tips For Turkey Day

Governor Mike Easley says he wants you to have a wonderful, safe Thanksgiving meal, all the while remembering our state remains in a serious drought.

Some of his suggestions for water conservation include defrosting frozen items in the refrigerator, not under running water. That's what food experts recommend as well, for safety issues.

Do not run the kitchen faucet continuously while washing dishes is another piece of advice from the governor. He also wants you to run only full loads in automatic dishwashers.
