NC Highway Patrol Watching For Speeders

By  |

The Highway Patrol is reminding drivers their speed will be closely monitored by troopers in cars and aircraft during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Troopers also will work at sobriety checkpoints on highways around the state.

Patrol commander Colonel Fletcher Clay says troopers will target speeders and aggressive drivers on major highways in North Carolina
through Sunday.

Clay says speed is the leading cause of fatal collisions. Last year 11 people were killed in the state in Thanksgiving weekend wrecks.
