Snow and Bitter Cold Blanket Eastern Carolina

Temperatures dropped and so did the snow in Eastern Carolina overnight.

The snow is expected to gradually end this morning, but the frigid temperatures are expected to last throughout the day.

Wind chills could be in the single digits to teens.

Officials urge people who venture outside to dress to protect themselves from the elements.

Driving is treacherous in many areas. Law enforcement in several counties received reports of more than two dozen vehicles sliding into ditches, but no one injured.
