No Long Lines Here

The little community of Hargetts' Crossroads in Jones County didn't see the long lines and wait many other polling places dealt with Election Day.

At mid-day, there was just one lone voter inside the booths there. But that precinct had already voted well over 25 percent of its registered ballots, and they were expecting record turnout as farmers and workers finished up the work day.

One of every five Jones County voters took advantage of early voting, and a record turnout could see as many as 4,000 of the county's 6,700 voters making their votes count.
