Is There Still a Shortage of Flu Vaccine?

Though the flu season has been mild so far, several Eastern Carolina counties are still reporting vaccine shortage.

Officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say many high risk seniors and children have yet to get the vaccine. They're also reporting that some areas of the country have a surplus of the vaccine and may not need it at all. And it's for that reason C.D.C. officials are trying to decide whether to redistribute some of the vaccine to the other parts of the country in need. Craven County is one of the counties with a shortage.

They're also trying to decide whether to broaden the guidelines to give more people a chance to be immunized.
