Dell Inc. says it has agreed to buy Everdream Corporation, a privately held provider of software services for remote management of personal computers.

Everdream is based in Fremont, California, and has a second facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dell also has a manufacturing plant in North Carolina.

Terms weren't disclosed. Dell said the deal would not be final until all closing conditions were met.

The Texas-based computer maker says the acquisition will be a key part of Dell's plan to help customers simplify their information-technology needs.
