Two different Onslow County infants are dead. Now, the county's sheriff's office is urging parents not to fall asleep next to or while holding their infant children.
Lawmen say one of the infants was found under a comforter in the parent's bed, not breathing. In the other instance, the mother told authorities she fell asleep in a chair with her infant and woke up to find the baby against the chair, not breathing.
One medical expert says these tragic events can be prevented if parents understand why their infants must sleep in a crib.
Both deaths have been ruled accidental by the Onslow County Sheriff's Office.
