A black bear that appeared to be injured, hobbled its way to an open field in Beaufort County Wednesday morning. It stayed there for hours until Wildlife officials were able to check it out.
Local residents say they spotted the bear limping into the field around 10 in the morning off Highway 92 near the Bayview Ferry dock.
Wildlife officials say the bear may have been hit by a car or shot. If it can't be saved, officials say the bear will be put to sleep.
