It's that time of year where three little words have the potential to make a big difference in a child's life. Those three words? Toys for Tots.
As you know, we are asking you to drop off your new, unwrapped toys at our Washington and Greenville studios before the end of next week.
Have you ever wondered just how critical the need is for this program? The numbers tell the story.
Last year alone, Cherry Point's annual U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign generated nearly a quarter of a million dollars in toys distributed to 24,000 children in 22 counties of Eastern Carolina.
From 1947 to 2005, Toys for Tots has distributed 351 million toys to 166 million deserving children across America.
You just have one week left to drop off your new, unwrapped toys at our Washington or Greenville studios. We hope you'll help us make a child smile this Christmas.
If you would like to get on a list to receive toys, the best thing is to touch base with local social welfare agencies, church groups and other local community agencies. You can find out more information by calling (252)466-2622.
