Ship Makes Special Appearance for History

In celebration of the Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce's centennial year, residents gathered along the city waterfront Saturday looking back at the origin of the region, and it's maritime history.

Sponsored by PCS Phosphate the 100-year celebration included maritime history presentations, music, artifacts, and funs facts for families and visitors to the waterfront to absorb. The chamber celebration also featured educational demonstrations by ECU and Duke students in Marine Studies. Also a once in lifetime appearance, the Ada-Mae flagship docked at the waterfront for this special occasion.

The Washington Chamber is always open for visitors and the Ada-Mae flagship will be docked at the waterfront for the entire week for viewing.
