Washington Police say a 15-year-old boy was given probation in juvenile court after stealing money from a card in someone's mailbox.
Police say they caught the teen after he wrote to the person who sent the money, claiming to be who it was intended for, and asked for more money. They nabbed him when he went back to the mailbox to get the additional money.
Law enforcement officials say it's a good idea to never send cash through the mail, and to dispose of any personal information properly. Officials also recommend taking any mail which may have personal information to the post office instead of putting it in your home mail box.
