Police Force Suspended, Found No Wrong Doing

There’s a new development in an ongoing investigation into last week's
suspension of the entire police force of four officers in the Jones County town of Maysville.

Officials say what sparked the suspension was a fight between two police officers and several suspects this month, plus complaints filed against the department by some residents for reasons not disclosed. The State Bureau of Investigation was called in to look into the matter.

At a press conference Thursday, District Attorney Dewey Hudson announced no wrong doing was found. Town officials will put the department's reinstatement to a vote Friday night, where it's expected to pass. State and county law enforcement have been monitoring the town during the suspension.
