Smoke filled part of Southside High School in Beaufort County this morning, forcing students outside for more than an hour as authorities investigated.
The school system says a nearby traffic accident cut off power to the school, and when emergency power came on part of the school filled up with smoke.
By 10:40 am crews had cleared the smoke from the school and the fire marshal said it was okay for the children to return to class.
