Three Fire Victims Laid to Rest

Gray skies Wednesday as a town said goodbye to three loved ones in Greenville. Family members and hundreds of others gathered at Wilkerson Funeral Home to say goodbye to three people killed in a Sunday morning house fire in Ayden, two of them children. Three-year-old Tucker Ewell, Seven-year-old Ashleigh Ewell, and their grandfather, 71-year-old Harold Ewell, were laid to rest around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon at Pinewood Cemetery. The two children were spending the night with their grandparents, who had just moved into the home when the house caught fire. Only the grandmother escaped. There's still no cause for the fire.
