Coping With Stress During the Holidays

The holidays can be a time for stress and depression. Mental health experts say it can also be a time to help those get the medical attention they need. State officials say they're doing all they can to help as well. Speaking at the community based “Care For People With Mental Illness” symposium, Carmen Hooker Odom, the state's Secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services, says progress is being made in mental health reforms. Odom says to help loved ones with mental health issues, embrace them unconditionally. Find out their exact mental condition beforehand so that if a doctor is needed, proper treatment can be administered.
