House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democrats in Congress will renew their efforts to end the Iraq War -- though the strategy might look familiar.
A member of the audience at Meredith College in Raleigh asked the California congresswoman why the war's direction hasn't changed in nearly a year since Democrats came to power.
Pelosi says the party will offer a new proposal next week that will seek to withdraw combat troops by the end of 2008, then restrict war funding to a few limited areas. She conceded later that the plan won't be much different than past, failed efforts.
Pelosi acknowledged that she's personally disappointed by the lack of success in ending the war. But she said she won't push to withhold all war funding because troops that are in Iraq need money.
