High Winds From Noel Close Schools Early

Several school systems here in Eastern Carolina are letting students out early today because of high winds from Hurricane Noel.

*Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Schools will close two hours early today.
*Edenton-Chowan Schools will close at 1:30 p.m.
*Tyrrell County schools will close at 2:00 pm.

At noon, winds reached 57 miles per hour on the Pamlico Sound, while on Ocracoke Island and at Swan Quarter the wind speed was 46 miles per hour.
