Refuge Called One Of The Most Endangered

A report released Friday by the group, "Defenders of Wildlife," says the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge in Washington County is one of ten most endangered wildlife refuges in the nation for 2004. The group's report looked at factors contributing to the erosion to protected lands. The report cites a proposed nearby Navy landing field and chicken egg factory as reasons for it's inclusion on the list.
