A Washington woman is in jail tonight, accused of hitting a sheriff's patrol car three times during a chase last night.
Deputies say after they stopped a car that ran a stop sign on Asbury Church Road, Shebreka Matthews struck the deputy's cruiser with her car and took off.
The chase led officers into the Pamlico Village subdivision where the vehicle ended up on a dead end street. The deputy tried to block the car in when they say Matthews' car hit the cruiser two more times.
Deputies say Matthews finally lost control of her car on Starmount Drive and landed up in a ditch.
The 24 year old woman is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon n a government official, felony flee to elude arrest, reckless driving, injury to personal property, driving while impaired and running a stop sign
She is in jail on a $10,000 bond.
