Three people from Florida are dead after a tractor-trailer overturned and slid into the path of their vehicle in Wilkes County.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol identified the three as 62-year-old Thomas Cameron Simon, 65-year-old George Wesley Wiggins, and 44-year-old Mary E. Wiggins.
All three had addresses in Ashe County and in Sarasota, Fla.

The crash happened Friday evening when the tractor-trailer
crossed the centerline and overturned. It slid into the path of a pickup truck being driven by Thomas Simon.
Troopers say the trucker, Curtis Isaac Mondy of St. Petersburg, Fla., was speeding. He faces charges including misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Mondy was treated at a hospital and released.
