The Onslow County Sheriff caught two men red handed trying to steal audio equipment from a local church last weekend. Now, he'll have to catch one of those suspects again. The break-in happened at Freedom Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown was checking out several area churches after a rash of recent thefts. And, as he drove around the church, Sheriff Brown actually caught two men, Robert James Ruffin and Kevin Spain, taking items out of the church through a broken window.

Ruffin was caught a short time later. The sheriff and detectives brought Spain in on Monday. But, as he was being questioned at the sheriff office, Spain allegedly got up and walked out of the department.
