The flu vaccine shortage is hitting Edgecombe County hard.
The health department ordered 3,200 vaccines from Chiron, the company whose supply may be contaminated. They will not get any vaccines from that company.
The county health department also ordered 100 adult flu shots from the other major supplier, Aventis. But those shots are all gone.
Officials say they have a handful of shots left for children. The department is on a waiting list to get more shots, but there is no guarantee.
